The Safe-T-Scale is designed to test the force required to activate safety devices via the pull cord. Handheld and small, it is relatively simple to use and has been on the market for some time.

Although not strictly part of testing equipment, the Safe-T-Gauge allows for a quick and simple check of whether a gap is within the range of being considered a nip point.
